After well over a decade of campaigning by local residents, retailers and board members, work was finally due to start last week on a long-awaited eastern footpath link between Rodney Street and Centennial Park Road in Wellsford.
The new path will mean people can walk easily from Wellsford town centre down to businesses, a preschool and Centennial Park itself without having to cross busy State Highway 1 to go over the railway.
