A service led by Rev. John Marsden was held in the historic Pakiri Church on Sunday October 18 to mark the building’s centennial.
The church was built in 1926 and also served as a school classroom for two years. Tribute was paid to early families involved in its development including Harris, Witten, Rennie and Wyatt.
The Methodist Church was gifted to the local community in 2005 and since then, it has been maintained and restored through donated funds and volunteer labour.
