A workshop aimed at helping farmers complete an environmental plan for their farm is being held in Puhoi this month.
The event is being organised by Beef + Lamb NZ at the Puhoi Community Hall on Tuesday, June 21 at 10am.
Farm Environment Plans will be mandatory by 2025 and are already required by some councils. They are used to assess and manage a farm’s natural resources and their potential impact on the local environment.
Beef + Lamb NZ will provide a Farm Environment Planning toolkit, together with specialist advice on environmental issues and practical solutions. Morning tea and lunch will be provided and masks will need to be worn.
Anyone attending should bring three copies of their farm map, or aerial photos; a recent nutrient budget; any previous Land Environment Plans; and any other relevant information, such as recent soil tests or fertiliser recommendations.
