One of the largest early learning childcare centres in the region is being planned for land at Matakana Country Park.
Park owner Brendan Coghlan has applied for resource consent to build a daycare facility for up to 99 babies, toddlers and pre-schoolers on land adjoining the children’s playground and petting zoo, near the park entrance off Leigh Road.
If consented, the centre is expected to employ 24 full-time equivalent staff members, four part-time staff and provide 21 new carpark spaces.
