Residents of Puhoi will be surveyed to see if there is support for establishing a bus stop in the village.
The Puhoi Community Forum discussed the issue at its meeting this month and agreed to investigate whether there was any demand for a bus service, before approaching Auckland Transport.
Co-chair Paul Manton says when the new motorway opens buses will bypass Puhoi.
“There could be a number of options, including bringing a bus further north from Waiwera, but we need to know whether there is an appetite for such a service first,” Manton said.
