Auckland Council has agreed to spend $33 million on the North Harbour Stadium over the next 10 years, despite earlier calls for the stadium precinct to be sold.
Cr Richard Hills said he was glad to see the sale of North Harbour taken off the table.
“It is an important community asset, but it’s not well used and we need to be doing something different,” Hills said.
There are plans to change the way the stadium is run. It is currently managed by Tātaki Auckland Unlimited.
