Auckland’s public transport customers aged under 25 who use a registered HOP card can now travel for free or half price.
Although the government’s half price discount on public transport fares ended on June 30, new concessions for passengers under 25 were introduced on July 1.
The concessions provide for free fares for those aged five to 12 years old and half price fares continue for those aged 13 to 24 years.
Children under five years old continue to travel free when accompanied by a fare paying passenger.
Community Connect passengers continue to get 50% off adult fares with a Community Services Card.
