Representational arrangements for Kaipara District Council’s local government election this year have been finalised.

The Council will comprise the mayor elected at-large and nine councillors elected under the ward system, specifically eight general ward councillors and one Māori ward councillor.

There will be four wards – Kaiwaka-Mangawhai General Ward (represented by three councillors) Otamatea General Ward (two councillors), Wairoa General Ward (three councillors) and Te Moananui o Kaipara Māori Ward (one Māori councillor) covering the entire district.
