In smaller communities, having accessible and flexible fitness options close to home can make a real difference for people looking to start and maintain healthy routines.

With the new year often bringing renewed focus on wellbeing and exercise, Wellsford residents will soon have a new option to help them achieve their fitness goals with the opening of the town’s first 24-hour gym on Rodney Street.

Many would have already passed by the distinctive exterior of 24/7 Fitness Studio, which is opening soon.

Owner-operator and local Nicki Jane said having accessible fitness options benefitted more than just individuals – they contributed to healthier lifestyles, improved wellbeing and a stronger community.

“Having a facility like this in Wellsford means residents can invest in their health without leaving town – day and night.”

Jane said the studio was created after observing many people who were motivated to improve their health but were held back by long travel times, restricted opening hours or environments that felt intimidating or impersonal.

“As the only 24/7 gym in Wellsford, it allows people to train at times that suit their lives, not the other way around. This flexibility is especially valuable for shift workers, busy parents, early risers and those who prefer quieter training times,” she said.

The studio focuses on supporting everyday fitness rather than high-pressure gym culture and will provide “a clean, safe and respectful space where people of all ages and fitness levels are welcome”.

“For those who want guidance, qualified personal trainers are available to help create individual training plans, offering support and structure tailored to each person’s goals and experience.

“As locals set goals for the year ahead, big or small, having support, flexibility, and local options can make all the difference.”
