Kaipara District Council is advising residents and travellers of further road closures on Mangawhai Road as repairs continue.
The 24/7 closure will be between Coal Hill Road and Cames Road, from 6am on Saturday June 20 until 6pm on Sunday July 5 to allow road crews to make urgent repairs at the slip site.

Recent site inspections, survey monitoring, and pavement observations indicate that movement of the earth around the site is ongoing, despite temporary stabilisation measures being in place.
Council said a full closure is needed to allow crews uninterrupted access to repair the structural issues with the road, and keep it safe for public use and for the contractors fixing the slip.
Detours
If you’re heading south, turn left onto Coal Hill Road, then right into Te Arai Point Road, then left to continue onto Mangawhai Road.
If you’re heading north, turn left onto Cames Road, right into Lawrence Road, right onto Kaiwaka Mangawhai Road, and continue into Mangawhai Village.
Alternatively, if you’re heading to/from Auckland, you can avoid the closure by travelling via Kaiwaka.
Road users are advised to allow additional time if travelling during the closure period.
