More than 60 people came out to sample free scones in the Great Warkworth Scone Bake Off held on September 7.
They voted the Date & Orange scones created by Chef Frank Zhu at Chocolate Brown Café to be their favourite.
Someone claiming to be TV chef Jamie Oliver showed up raving about how Warkworth scones were “jolly more fun than the plain old scones back in the UK”.
The Great Warkworth Scone Bake Off is held on the first Saturday of every month.
The next will be on October 5, during the Rugby World Cup. Look out for an All Black scone.
