Orewa Bridge Club members came to the aid of the local St John ambulance service in Silverdale last month, donating almost $5000 at a ceremony on June 8.
The funds were raised from tournament entry fees, donations of goods from members for auction, and local businesses.
Several of the club’s members canvassed Orewa businesses for vouchers and discounts for their goods and services, and received a very positive response.
