Grocery stores update hours

Grocery stores across northern communities, from Mangawhai to Puhoi, have adapted their services to manage during the quarantine.

Some are restricting numbers in stores while others have created new delivery services. Most have changed their opening hours to allow for extra time to restock.

Here’s a list of what grocery stores in different communities are doing for the quarantine (as of March 30):

  • The Snells Beach Food Market has closed its doors to customers, but is doing contact free payment for grocery orders outside the shop. Customers are asked to email orders to shop@thefoodmarket.nz and pick them up from outside the store. Some orders can be made at the door. Its current hours are 9am to 4pm.
  • The Matakana Four Square is open 8am to 6pm. Due to high demand, the store is only doing deliveries to 70+ and other vulnerable people. Orders should be sent to claire.walker@4sq.co.nz. The store is allocating surrounding communities with a delivery day to maximise reach. It delivers to Whangaripo Valley on Tuesday, Leigh and Ti Point on Thursday, Point Wells and Omaha on Saturday, and Matakana on Sunday.
  • The Point Wells General Store has closed its shop and is doing deliveries only. Call 09 422 7007.
