Children from Warkworth School collected 628 cans for the Warkworth Christian Foodlink on Thursday, December 5.
The students were asked to bring a can of food for mufti day in place of a gold coin donation.
The Year 6 student council was in charge of organising the day including producing posters, reaching out to classrooms and collecting up the cans.
It is the 10th year that the school has held a can collection for the local foodbank.
