About 30 volunteers turned out on a crisp winter morning earlier this month to plant 1000 native trees and shrubs on the edge of Centennial Park in Wellsford.

It marked the fourth planting initiative undertaken at the park, overseen by Auckland Council. On this occasion, it was coordinated by resident Caroline Milner, supported by Wellsford Lions.
