Principal quits

Orewa Principal Gregory Pierce has today resigned from Orewa College, after just three years in the job.

In a message to parents, Pierce says he is resigning, effective at the end of this school year, “with significant mixed feelings”.

“The college and community will be difficult to leave, but I am proud of what we have achieved over the last three years,” he says.

Pierce, who is also current president of the Auckland Secondary Schools Principals’ Association, has accepted a job as Executive Principal at Brisbane State High School, which he begins next term.

Associate Principal, Anna Kenny, will be Acting Principal for Term 1, 2024 while the Board of Trustees goes through the recruitment process for a permanent Principal.
