Hibiscus Dairy Flat hockey teams power through to grand finals

It will be a big weekend for Hibiscus Dairy Flat Hockey teams after the semi-finals weekend showed just how close and competitive the game can be.

The P1 Men and Women both secured victories over Takapuna, booking their places in the Grand Final. The men’s side battled to a 2–2 draw before holding their nerve in a penalty shootout, winning 3–1. The P1 women’s team edged out Takapuna 2–1 in another tight contest.

The club’s P3 Men and Women also had strong results. The P3 Men defeated NSU Blue 3–1, while the P3 Women came out on top 2–1 against ECB Black. Both teams now move through to the Plate Finals.

The D1 Women took Takapuna to a nil draw, winning their match on penalty shootouts to secure a place in the final.

Several other matches ended in draws: the D1 Men, D2 Men, D2 White Women and D3 Women finished their semi-finals locked at full time, with the D2 Men and D2 White Women losing on penalty shootouts to Warkworth and NSU Blue respectively.
