Bowls Warkworth pulled out all the stops on October 3, raising a record $1600 for Harbour Hospice at its annual fundraiser.
The club ran a raffle and auction, with player contributions up $400 from last year, despite 2017 also seeing a record amount raised.
The winning team came from Orewa and was made up of Trevor Parker, Derek Button and Eddy Edwards.
Warkworth sides took out second and third place, with Francois Loubser, Stu Charity and James Newlove taking second and Les Hatfull, Ernie Gidman and Ivan Pivac taking third.
The competition was played on the new carpet green, which has been in use since May and has received high praise from club members.
A new grass green is due to be ready for the club’s next tournament on October 17.
