The Coast Community Day will return on Saturday, March 14 with a programme of free activities at the Hibiscus Coast AFC clubrooms in Stanmore Bay.
Events begin at 9am with beach yoga and an opportunity for families to meet the junior committee and register for the upcoming football season. Kiwi Bubble Soccer will run from 10am to midday, with a parkour course also planned.
A colour run is scheduled for 1pm, followed by a 3pm pre-season match between Hibiscus Coast AFC and Auckland FC Reserves.
The day wraps up with music from 5pm and a 7pm live screening of Auckland FC versus Newcastle Jets. Organisers say the event is open to the wider community and designed to bring people together.
Event committee member Michelle Suther, says that the event is bigger and better than first expected. “We had the original plan, then it kept expanding outwards from there. Now it’s become a full day event,” she says.
