The Hibiscus Coast Football Club took off their jerseys and donned their oldest clothes for the club’s colour run fundraiser on November 15.
Seventy-three of the club’s participants, coaches, friends and family took to the Stanmore Bay grassy fields to participate in a series of challenges and activities, all while getting a new colourful look for their clothes. Volunteers from all over the coast, including emergency services, along with some generous sponsors, all assisted in making the day a huge success for the club.
The funds will be used to support and maintain the club.
Natalie Smith, leader of the fundraiser, was stoked at how much fun it was.
“The event was amazing” she said. “The kids and the families had so much fun, and seeing everyone happy was the best feeling! Our kids love the club and football and it’s great to see the community coming together”.
The colours themselves were made out of non-toxic cornstarch and water soluble dye, making the day as sustainable as it was entertaining.
Michelle Sutherland, a member of the club’s fundraising committee, was very thankful for the turnout.
“This event was powered by our generous sponsors, and the huge hearts and hard-working legends we call volunteers! It was a fun-filled day packed with laughter, colour, and all-round good vibes.”
