Aucklanders wanting to have their say on Plan Change 120 have until September 24 to make a submission.
The plan change proposes changes to Auckland’s planning rules covering where more housing can be built, building heights and protections from flooding and other natural hazards.
Auckland Council has set up a range of resources for people wanting to understand how the changes could affect them before submitting.
An interactive planning map allows people to search an address and see the proposed zoning and other changes affecting the property. A short video explaining how to use the maps is also available.
Council is also holding an online webinar on September 7 for people wanting to learn more about the proposed changes and submission process.
A free Friend of Submitter service is available for people who need more help. Independent advisers can explain the process and technical information, help people use the planning maps and provide guidance on presenting their views, although they cannot tell submitters whether to support or oppose the proposals or write submissions for them.
Anyone can make a submission. People who submitted on PC120 previously do not have to submit again, although they can make an additional submission if they wish.
Submissions close on September 24 at 5pm.
