East Coast Heights, behind the park ‘n’ ride in Silverdale, is ready to develop its final two residential stages and recently applied for resource consent to do so.
The development, by Build Rich, with entry off East Coast Road, is 26ha in total and its elevation means it has a major visual impact – especially when coming onto the Coast from the motorway at Silverdale.
When complete, the development will contain close to 500 homes, and a commercial centre (Stage 5).
So far, two residential stages are complete – Stage 1, of around 118 homes, is sold out and Stage 2, around 100 homes, is 80 percent sold.
A further 276 new homes are proposed for the 10ha that make up Stages 3 and 4 together.
The consent application also includes a wetland enhancement and restoration on the site’s southern boundary.
The commercial development, due for completion in mid-2023, proposes retail, a gym, office space, food and beverage, and a supermarket.
Auckland Council planners are currently processing the resource consent application.
