Bulk foods win big

Warkworth businesses continue to punch above their weight, with the Bin Inn in Warkworth recently being named the best Bin Inn store in New Zealand.

The award was presented at a conference in Taupo this month, where the Elizabeth Street shop was also named Best Presented Store.

Jill Gabriel, who has owned the store for nearly four years, said she was thrilled with the wins.

“A lot of hard work has gone in to completely changing the store’s environment and growing specialty grocery lines, both organic and non-organic bulk foods,” she said.

The store was judged against 39 other branches, winning on presentation, cleanliness and sales growth. Pictured are Bin Inn owner Jill Gabriel, right, and store manager Sophie Savage.
