Burt Plumbing Solutions

After years spending every second weekend in Snells Beach at the family bach, Christina and Andrew Burt realised that this was the place they wanted to call home, and so they left their busy lives in Auckland behind.

Andrew has been a plumber for 13 years and brings a reputation for quality work to the new family business, Burt Plumbing Solutions.

As a certified plumber, backed by the New Zealand Master Plumbers Association, his workmanship comes with a guarantee.

He has extensive experience in commercial and industrial plumbing and has been highly successful in residential plumbing maintenance, renovations, and new builds thanks to a natural ability to problem solve.

“Whether it’s a remedial repair, such as a simple leak, or increasing water pressure, we fix anything that is causing a problem,” Andrew says.

“One of the most common jobs we have been attending to lately is old leaking plastic pipework.”

“People need to be wary of old pipework made from polybutylene, which is usually a black or grey. It is the first of its generation of plastic water supply pipework, and the product is bursting all over New Zealand as we speak.”

“Some insurance companies are only giving you one chance with those pipes. The second time the pipes burst they won’t pay out, so what we recommend doing is a full replacement.”

“People have the perception that we have to rip the walls out, but that is not the case and it can actually be quite painless.”

When they’re not fixing leaks, the Burts can be found with their two children, making the most of the beautiful Mahurangi district and enjoying a craft beer.
