Mals Benchtops

A long-standing Hibiscus Coast business is entering a new chapter, with Rob Thomas taking over Mals Benchtops, continuing 20 years of local service.

Rob says the aim is to carry on the legacy built by former owners Mal and Ben, while maintaining their focus on customer service and personalised design. 

The Coast-based company includes a local designer, to meet clients in their homes and guide them through colour choices, finishes and accessories.

“We listen carefully to what people want and support them through each step of the process,” Rob says.

Mals Benchtops specialises in replacing kitchen benchtops without the need for a full renovation, offering an end-to-end service that includes removing the old benchtop and installing a new one.

Products range from durable laminates (e.g. Formica®) with a wide range of finishes through to higher-end stone options, catering to a variety of budgets

Benchtops are custom-made to suit each kitchen, with installation handled locally, reinforcing the company’s strong ties to the Hibiscus Coast community.

Sustainability is also a key priority for Rob, with minor cabinetry alterations offered and current kitchen layouts retained, to minimise waste.

Once selections and accessories are finalised, installation typically takes around two weeks.

Rob says he’s looking forward to continuing Mals Benchtops and staying part of the Coast community.

“A lot of people don’t need a full kitchen remodel,” Rob says. “So a new benchtop can completely transform the heart of the home”.
