The Sandspit Residents and Ratepayers Association (SRRA) committee members for 2025/26 were confirmed during their annual general meeting held at Sandspit Yacht Club on Wednesday, May 21.

Chair Peter Deane said if anyone wanted to come onto the committee, they’d be welcomed with open arms.

“I’m happy to continue as chair, if that’s what the committee wants. Michael Absolum, who is not with us tonight, is happy to continue as deputy chair, and he’s been a wonderful support,” he said.

“David Wyatt is going to be stepping down, while Steve Chaning-Pierce has agreed to come back onto the committee (having taken a year off).

“You’re doing a great job Pete (as treasurer). Nancy, Terry, Ken and Maggie are happy to continue. So if anyone else is happy to come on, please do, we’d love to have you.”

Roy Graves raised his hand and was approved at the meeting along with the other committee members who were: Peter Deane (chair), Michael Absolum (deputy chair, secretary, Peter Stewart (treasurer), Nancy Doherty, Terry Neal, Ken Skinner, Maggie Wong and Steve Chaning-Pearce.

“I think we should show our appreciation with a round of applause for the committee that’s served over the years gone by,” Deane said. Subsequent to the meeting, Heather Carter was approved by the SRRA committee as a new member.
