Anyone heading north for Christmas should consider stopping off in Waipu on Christmas Eve, when the town’s iconic annual Santa Parade takes place.
Businesses, community groups and individuals will be dressing up and riding on decorated floats through town, starting from The Centre at 7pm and ending with prize giving in Caldeonian Park.
