Organisers of the Waipu Easter Carnival are celebrating the overwhelming success of this year’s event.

Held annually over Easter weekend, Northland truly embraced the fundraising event, raising a whopping $45,000 for the local primary school.

“We are absolutely blown away by this result,” the carnival organising committee says.

The event is truly a community effort, with many sponsors, local businesses, parents, teachers and volunteers giving up their time to put on the event.

“To see the community rally together like this for our kids is what makes Waipu so special. This money will go a long way in providing our students with the modern tools and environment they deserve.”

All proceeds from the event are dedicated to enhancing educational resources and facilities for the students of Waipu Primary School.
