Farmer surf sessions return

Anyone who works on the land can take to the sea again this summer, with the return of Surfing for Farmers at Waipu Cove every Thursday from January 15.

The free weekly sessions offer surf lessons with all gear provided, followed by a barbecue and a chance to catch up with like-minded people.

Surfing for Farmers was started eight years ago to give farmers and growers the chance to escape the daily grind and do something different for themselves.

Sessions run from January to March, starting 5pm.
