The latest summer looks for women and men of all ages will be on show next Thursday, October 16 at a gala fashion fundraiser in Matakana.
Rotary on the Runway 2025 at The Stables Restaurant & Bar is the third annual fashion show organised by Rotary Warkworth in support of Women’s Centre Rodney.
This year, around 20 models of all shapes, sizes, genders and ages will be modelling new-season clothes from recently opened Orewa store Xanadu and Berlin menswear.
Event convenor Cindy Bakewell says the show is always a fun night for both models and audience members, with a specially curated pumping playlist from DJ and actor Rob Mokaraka in favour of traditional commentary on the clothes.
“We had 16 women volunteer to be models because they had so much fun last year,” she says. “The music is fantastic, it really makes it fun.
“It promises to be a night of style, community and impact, and we can’t wait to share this exciting celebration with fellow fashion lovers.”
As well as the fashion show itself, there will be a live auction, silent auctions and raffles, and the ticket price includes a glass of Champagne and canapes on arrival.
Auction highlights include exclusive travel experiences, such as a luxury evening hike and dinner for two in Queenstown with boutique tour company Salt worth $1200, a night for two at the Park Hyatt Auckland with marina view and breakfast, and two bottles of Kumeu River wine signed by Prime Minister Christopher Luxon.
Proceeds will go towards the Rodney Women’s Centre’s WOW – Worth It! teen programme, which supports girls aged from 12 to 15 to build confidence, self-worth and resilience.
