Nursery time at Ti Point

The Ti Point Reptile Park is celebrating the arrival of four baby leopard tortoises.

The mother is the only female at the park and this was her first clutch of eggs.

Although she laid six eggs, only four hatched successfully.

The new arrivals will remain in an incubated enclosure for the next few months before going on public display in summer. Leopard tortoises are widespread through eastern and southern Africa, and can live up to 100 years.

They are the fourth largest species of tortoise in the world.

Pictured with one of the new arrivals is Jake Borich, the great grandson of Myfanwy and the late Ivan Borich, who started the park.
