The donkeys at Highfield Garden Reserve in Algies Bay will be donning tinsel with their tack on Saturday, December 6, when the annual Santa Family Fun Day is held.
The event starts at 11am with a parade, when all the donkeys – Tina, Tara, Topsy, Turvy, Toby and Tilly II – will come out to greet everyone (though one donkey, Truffle, will be missing this year, as she is currently away on ‘honeymoon’).
After an official welcome, Santa Claus will arrive in style, followed by plenty of traditional games, races and activities for all the family, including donkey rides, Highfield cards and merchandise, refreshments and a free sausage sizzle.
Entry is free, anyone wishing to make a donation is encouraged to become a friend of Highfields Donkeys – membership costs $10 a year per family.
