Trivia superheroes on call

Parents, staff and others will put their brains to the test in a night of trivia, banter and friendly competition at the Warkworth Rackets Club later this month.

A night of superheroes and villains will help raise funds for Warkworth School students when the school’s annual quiz night returns later this month.

Organised by the Warkworth School Parent Teacher Association (PTA), the fundraiser supports school camps, uniforms, books and playground facilities.

PTA member Ashley McInroe said fundraising played an important role in helping the school provide experiences and resources beyond those covered by everyday education funding.

“Our goal is always to make a meaningful difference across our school community,” McInroe said.

“Through fundraising, we can support areas that fall outside of everyday school funding, helping to create positive learning experiences, strengthen student wellbeing, and provide opportunities that benefit all children in our school community.”

Last year’s event raised $1785, and organisers are hoping this year’s Superheroes and Villains-themed quiz will attract strong community support.

Teams can have up to 10 members, with a minimum of five people. Individuals and couples are also welcome and will be placed into teams on the night.

Alongside the quiz, prizes will be awarded for the best individual and team costumes, while a silent auction will feature a range of items and experiences donated by local businesses and supporters.

“We would love to extend an invitation to anyone in the wider community who would like to come along and support the school,” McInroe said. “We are incredibly grateful for the support of our sponsors, volunteers, local businesses and community members who make events like this possible.”

The quiz night will be held at Warkworth Rackets, in Shoesmith Street, on Friday June 26, from 7pm. Tickets start from $15 and are available online at: https://tinyurl.com/bdzx46ky.
