Kauri treasures invitation

The treasures of Parry Kauri Park, including two enormous kauri, will be shared with the public when members of the Kauri Bushman’s Association lead a walk through the area on November 15.

The walk follows on the heels of a similar event along the waterfront earlier this month.

Association enthusiast Ray Jensen says the walk will be an opportunity for people to learn about the history of the park and its flora.

“It is such a community asset, but many locals have never visited it,” he says.

Commentary on the hour-long walk will also describe the trees and how they once were used.

It will start at 10am (weather permitting) and the association would appreciate a gold coin donation.

Entrance to Parry Kauri Park is from the carpark next to the Warkworth Museum, on Tudor Collins Drive.
