Watercare reveals pipeline plan to minimise disruption

The top of Kapanui Street will be closed to traffic for six months, but open to foot traffic.
A sizable chunk of Lucy Moore Memorial Park will be used as a main construction site base.
Watercare has revealed details of how the new sewage pipeline from Warkworth Showgrounds to Lucy Moore Park will be built over the next two-and-a-half years.
The good news is that the entire 1.6km-length will now be trenchless tunnelling, except for one 60-metre stretch outside the row of shops on the northern side of Elizabeth Street, and even that will be done 20-metres at a time to minimise disruption.
