The Te Kohuroa Rewilding community consultation day will be held at Leigh Community Hall on Saturday May 23, from 10am to 1.30pm.
The event will feature a panel of guest speakers including kelp scientist Caitlin Blain, rangatahi conservation leaders Rāwinia Wikaira and Huia Johnston-Miles, and freshwater catchment specialist Hana Aickin, who will be answering questions.
After a shared community lunch, participants will be invited to provide feedback on the project’s next steps and goals for community-led rewilding at Te Kohuroa Matheson Bay.
The event is free, but registration is essential.
