Matariki Lantern Walk Warkworth

Join us for a magical community Lantern Walk as we celebrate Matariki together along the beautiful Mahurangi riverside boardwalk.

Bring your homemade lantern and meet us from 5:30pm on Thursday 9 July 2026. Free LED candles will be available to place inside lanterns, and the walk will begin at 6:00pm. After the walk, enjoy a hot chocolate and sausage sizzle outside the Masonic Hall, kindly provided by the Scouts.

This is a family-friendly event suitable for prams and most mobility levels, with a gentle walk along the riverside pathway.

Important:

Please do not use real candles or any open flames in lanterns.
Free LED candles will be provided.
Please bring a torch to help light your way along the route.
Cash only for the Scouts’ sausage sizzle.
Children must be supervised by an adult at all times.

Come along to celebrate Matariki, share time with your community, and enjoy an evening of light, reflection, and connection. ✨🏮🌟
