Matakantata Choir Greatest Hits

The Matakantata Choir are bringing you their Greatest Hits – a collection of some of our best and favourite songs from previous concerts. This lineup includes popular bangers and beautiful and emotional songs that lend themselves to tender harmonies.
“Revisiting some of our classic songs that audiences have loved makes rehearsals especially exciting,” says Jenny Eirena, the choir director. “We spend so much time preparing each concert that it feels a shame to put our favourite pieces aside and never sing them again. We’re looking forward to performing them once more.”

The choir established 17 years ago and have been performing two concerts each year since then. We still have some of the original members and have attracted new singers along the way. The process of revisiting past concerts and music has provided the new choir members with stories about early concerts and past choir members.

There are two concerts. An evening concert at the Matakana community hall on Friday 19th of June at 7.30pm and a late afternoon concert at the Warkworth town Hall on Sunday the 21st of June at 4pm.
