Amberlea activities budget boosted

Amberlea care home residents and staff were grateful for a $1700 donation from LIFE Church and the local community.

LIFE Church and the local community have raised $1700 for CHT Amberlea Care Home in Algies Bay, which will help the activities team not only look after the residents there, but also keep them entertained.

“Amberlea staff and residents wanted to send a huge thank you to LIFE Church and the surrounding community for generously fundraising and giving us a donation to use for our residents,” Amberlea diversional therapist Dee Zuyl said.

“We received Warehouse vouchers, which will be used for resources like new board games and balls, as well as drumsticks for cardio-drumming exercise classes.

“Mobil vouchers will enable us to give a little something to our wonderful volunteers that entertain us with music that is invaluable to us. Music is like magic and is good for the soul.”

Amberlea also received Crimson Cafe vouchers, which will allow the activities team to take the residents out for coffee and muffin trips.

“And lastly some beautiful Sheepworld day trips to enable us to visit there, watch the shearing show and to have a cuppa as well,” Zuyl said.

She reiterated how thankful Amberlea was to their community.

“We want them to know how wonderful they are. This means so much to all of us and is very much appreciated. Sending the community so much love.”
