Bream Bay’s scenic splendour takes centre stage in a new exhibition hosted by a group of passionate artists, inspired by the natural charm of their coastal surroundings.
It will be the second fundraising exhibition this year by the Bream Bay Combined Arts Group. The show is entitled Beautiful Bream Bay and opens at the Art Cottage in Ruakaka on November 2.
Featuring a vibrant mix of media, including oil, acrylic and watercolour paintings, original photography and felting wall art, the show will also showcase an impressive selection of pottery, fired in the group’s newly-installed kiln.

Thanks to a grant from the Whangarei District Council’s Communities Fund, along with funds raised through years of successful exhibitions, the kiln has greatly enhanced the pottery group, who will showcase an array of items, from delicate functional pieces to bold garden sculptures.
Proceeds from the exhibition will help offset the final installation costs.
Founded six years ago, the collaborative art group has flourished from a humble eight to over 40 members. The group offers a range of studio times and days for artistic exploration, as well as peer support and encouragement. New members are always welcome.
