Ōrewa Garden Club raised $1760 for Age Concern Rodney at its 13th annual Garden Party luncheon.
The event was held on January 16 at the home of club members Dee and Lloyd Farrand.
Wet weather forced a postponement, but the rain date dawned fine and sunny. Funds were raised through entry fees, raffles, plant sales and donations.
Age Concern Rodney representative Paddy Sullivan spoke about the services the organisation provides and warned guests about scams, including romance scams.
The best Garden Party hat was judged by Sullivan. Tina Moore won first place, Eileen Revell was second and Kate Rowe third.
Organisers thanked club members, neighbours and 26 local businesses that donated goods and vouchers for the event. Photo supplied.
