Teachers from Wellsford and the Mahurangi area joined colleagues at a major protest rally over pay and working conditions in Auckland city last Thursday.
Before catching a southbound charter bus, a small group gathered at the Hill Street intersection to raise awareness of their concerns.
They were greeted with plenty of toots and shouts of support.
The nationwide protest, which included nurses and thousands of other workers, was billed as quite possibly the largest labour action in more than 40 years
