The Warkworth Lions Club has installed a new community piano at Woolworths, replacing the 115-year-old instrument that had been entertaining shoppers since 2019.
Local piano tuner Brian Becroft sourced the Yamaha piano from Hamilton, saying it was better suited to the conditions at the supermarket. He also tuned the instrument before it was installed.
Lions Club member Bruce Clegg repaired minor structural damage, gave the piano a fresh coat of paint and fitted it with wheels.
