The St John Therapy Pets programme has partnered with Summerset Retirement Homes to gain more visibility within the community.
The funding provided by Summerset will contribute toward the recruitment of more therapy pet volunteers, set up costs and pet assessment costs, as well as cover the cost of uniforms for both the volunteers and the pets.
The programme involves regular visits to the retirement homes, where pets build invaluable relationships with the residents.
