Over the past three years Tim and Sarah Houltham of iDigital Smartphone Services have provided technical support free-of-charge to the residents of Summerset Falls Retirement Village.

From setting up apps on iPhones and powering up computers to troubleshooting tablets and smart TVs, the pair’s volunteer work for two hours every second week in the library as well as callouts to residents’ homes has been invaluable.

This was acknowledged last week when a signed certificate of appreciation from all the residents who had been helped was presented to the couple onsite, with around 40 people in attendance.

Village manager Adriana Summers said Tim and Sarah were friends of Summerset Falls and had provided around 470 solutions over the years.

“I can’t express how much I appreciate your work and support to our residents. You volunteered your time and kindness, which is rare to find. Thank-you very much.”

Resident Eric Henry, who first got Tim and Sarah onboard, said there had been no place for residents to go before they volunteered their time.

“We’ve benefited from your expertise, and patience,” he said.

Sarah Houltham said they were happy to volunteer their time as they wanted to give back to the community.
