The tsunami siren testing on the weekend will be the last, as Auckland Council moves to decommission the network in December.
The tsunami siren warning systems in Omaha, Point Wells, Whangateau and Waiwera, which were tested over the weekend, will be decommissioned by Auckland Council on December 1.
Council believes the sirens have reached their use-by date and are too costly to continue to maintain, particularly since they have become a magnet for vandals.
