Bus schedule changes

Auckland Transport (AT) is making tweaks to local bus schedules, after monitoring the way that its new network, introduced on the Hibiscus Coast last year, is working.

AT spokesperson Mark Hannan says that the CCO monitored both the network’s performance and customer feedback, and found that small changes had to be made.

He says that the changes will allow connections to be made with least possible customer wait time and the network will be “more efficient and easier for customers to understand”. The changes are:

  • The 991x and 992x no longer detour through Silverdale Town Centre
  • The 981 will only travel between Hibiscus Coast Station and Waiwera and Orewa, while the 982 will only travel between Hibiscus Coast Station and Gulf Harbour and Army Bay.
  • Timetables have been adjusted to ensure closer connections between local services and the Northern Express.
  • Two additional trips have been added to the 988 Plaza to Gulf Harbour service to connect with additional ferry services.

The changes will be implemented from September 25.
