Coast Storm volleyball club trials

Coast Storm’s A Team last season warming up for their match.

Coast Storm Volleyball Club will hold trials for the upcoming season at Kingsway Senior Campus on May 16.

The Hibiscus Coast-based club invites players to register their interest, with separate sessions for women and men. The women’s trial runs from 9am-10.45am, followed by the men’s session from 11.15am-1pm.

Callback trials will be held on May 23 at the same times and venue.

Club founder Fiona Scrimshaw says interest in the club continues to grow, with strong numbers attending recent muster games.

This season could see the club field its first competitive women’s team, following increased interest and improved resources.

Players are asked to register via the club’s social media pages to secure a place at trials.

The Coast Storm A team moves up to Division 2 this season after a strong performance last year, while the B team is aiming for promotion to Division 3.

Scrimshaw says the club is keen to build on that momentum and act as a link between North Harbour and the Coast, but it needs more support to continue expanding.

“Our club is growing and, with the possibilities of adding more teams in 2026, we’re on the look out for some awesome coaches and managers to help out,” she says.
