Kainga Ora – Homes and Communities has decided to sell its land in Bonair Crescent, Millwater where it had planned to build 37 homes.
The plan ran up against stiff community opposition.
In a press release, Kainga Ora says delivering homes on that site is no longer financially viable because of the increasing costs facing builders and developers since the organization purchased the land in 2020.
Auckland and Northland deputy chief executive, Caroline Butterworth says the investment in Millwater no longer stacks up and selling makes the best economic sense.
