Age no barrier for Martin

Warkworth athlete Allan Martin has won two gold medals at the World Masters Games in Taipei.

At age 99, he is one of the oldest athletes competing and, in some events, the only competitor.

He competed in javelin, 100 metres, 200m and discus, taking gold in the javelin and 100m, with results for the 200m and discus unknown when Mahurangi Matters went to press.
